The Rovaryn Portfolio: Niche Products, One Approach

A production manager at a 20-machine job shop and the HR director of a New York employer that uses resume-screening software have very different problems. Neither is well served by a giant platform built for everyone. Rovaryn Digital builds for people like them. Every product we build sits on its own .com, aimed at one specific job in one specific kind of business.

This post walks through the whole portfolio. We have grouped the products into families so you can find the one closest to your own work. Then we cover what every product includes today and what is still on the way.

Why so many small products instead of one big one

Our thesis is in the tagline we use for the whole company: markets that are "too small for enterprise vendors, too specialized for generalist platforms." A narrow-web label converter, a private vocational rehabilitation practice and an independent biomedical service organization all have real, recurring problems. They are usually stuck choosing between spreadsheets and software priced and scoped for companies ten times their size. We wrote about that gap in The Opportunity in "Too Small", and about why we run many products instead of one in Why We're Building a SaaS Venture Builder.

None of them was picked at random: each one started with a specific, recurring problem in a specific kind of business.

Scheduling: machines, equipment and operators

MachineScheduler is visual Gantt scheduling for small and mid-size job shops and CNC machining centers. Machines are the rows and jobs are the blocks. It checks capacity and conflicts as you drag, keeps an operator roster with skills and certifications, and shows due-date status in green, amber and red. It is built for shops running roughly 5–50 machines, where Excel scheduling starts to break down. See the MachineScheduler product page.

EquipmentScheduler does the same job for general contractors moving equipment and operators across several job sites at once. It has a fleet calendar, catches equipment and operator conflicts before a booking saves, tracks asset status (available, in use, in maintenance, retired) and handles equipment requests that need approval.

Licensing and compliance

LicenseRoadmap tracks technician licenses, continuing education (CE) and renewals for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, roofing and fire-protection contractors. It sends renewal alerts at 90, 60, 30, 14 and 7 days and includes a 50-state requirements reference library.

LicensedTrades covers the wider compliance file for specialty trade contractors: licenses, CE hours, surety bonds and insurance certificates. Status shows as red, amber or green, and it produces a compliance PDF ready to attach to a bid.

WorkforceNewYork is for New York employers that use automated employment decision tools. NYC's Local Law 144 requires a bias audit within one year before such a tool is used, public posting of the audit results, and notice to candidates. The product keeps an inventory of those tools, runs the audit calendar, and generates the 10-business-day candidate notice with proof it was delivered. It also keeps a registry of vendors' bias audits. It never performs or certifies a bias audit itself, by design. See the WorkforceNewYork product page. (A general description, not legal advice.)

Pay and compensation

SalaryRange builds minimum, midpoint and maximum salary ranges from public wage data: the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics program, which publishes wage estimates for about 830 occupations, plus Statistics Canada data for Canadian roles. It exports job-posting ranges for pay-transparency rules and keeps an audit trail.

JobBands sits one level up. It helps HR teams at 25–250-person companies build job families and levels, set band structures, and compare them against BLS and Statistics Canada benchmarks.

CEOSalary is executive pay benchmarking for CEOs and other C-suite executives, built from public filings. Public companies must disclose CEO and other top-executive pay in their annual proxy statements. Tax-exempt organizations report officer and key-employee pay on IRS Form 990, Part VII. CEOSalary builds a peer set from that data and cites every figure back to its filing. See the CEOSalary product page.

Workforce data

SkilledMarkets benchmarks skilled-trades wages by trade, region and experience. It shows BLS wage percentiles at national, state and metro level and adds occupation profiles from O*NET, the occupational database sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor.

NursingWorkforce is a dashboard for nurse managers and chief nursing officers. It tracks RN and LPN headcount, vacancies, turnover and turnover cost, and adds wage benchmarks, retention-risk scoring by unit and six-month vacancy forecasting.

WorkforceAnalysis answers the board's question "how exposed are our roles to AI?" for one specific company. It matches each role to an O*NET occupation, scores each task on four dimensions of AI and automation exposure, and produces department heatmaps and suggested redeployment paths. The results export as a board-ready PDF or PPTX.

Careers and skills

CareerEvaluations helps HR teams at 30–200-employee companies build career ladders with up to six levels and separate individual-contributor and manager tracks. It evaluates employees against competency templates, reports skill gaps and tracks development actions.

SkillsInventory replaces the skills matrix spreadsheet. It ships with an O*NET-based skills taxonomy pre-loaded and adds a proficiency heat map, role profiles, gap analysis and certification-expiry alerts.

Maintenance

MaintenancePlanning is preventive-maintenance (PM) scheduling that starts from the plan, not the work order. Set intervals per asset and it builds a rolling queue of tasks due in 7, 14 or 30 days. It tracks PM compliance, MTBF (mean time between failures) and MTTR (mean time to repair).

MaintenanceCalculator is for the planner whose question is "what should my intervals be, and what will maintenance cost next year?" It keeps an asset registry, calculates PM due dates and estimates annual maintenance cost per asset and across the whole fleet.

BiomedicalTechnology is a multi-client maintenance and compliance system for independent biomedical equipment service organizations. It organizes records by client hospital, building, department and device. It schedules PM, calibration and electrical-safety work orders, locks digital checklists on signature, and assembles an audit binder in one click. It holds no patient health information and does not connect to any electronic health record system.

Care and return to work

CareWorkbook is care-plan documentation for small private-pay home-care agencies and independent geriatric care managers. It includes scored daily-living (ADL/IADL) assessments, branded exports and read-only family sharing. It runs in the browser on a design where no client data is stored on a server.

TransitionalDuty manages return-to-work cases for employers. It takes in the doctor's work restrictions, matches them to suitable light-duty tasks using O*NET physical-demands data, generates job descriptions and offer letters, and exports state reimbursement packets. It keeps an unchangeable audit log.

RehabilitationManagement runs the practice side of private vocational rehabilitation firms. It handles caseload and deadline tracking, a transferable skills analysis worksheet, wage-earning-capacity calculations, and billing against each insurance carrier's fee schedule. (These are product descriptions, not medical or legal advice.)

Manufacturing

FlexoCommand is quoting-first management software for independent narrow-web label converters. It prices flexo and digital presses side by side in one quote and highlights the quantity at which digital stops being cheaper than flexo. Scheduling, job costing and invoicing are added as the shop moves up the pricing tiers.

WorkTickets handles routing, travelers and job costing for CNC, sheet-metal, welding and plastics job shops. Operators clock in with one tap, work in progress updates live, and actual labor is compared with the quote at each operation. It is meant for shops that need this without a full ERP system.

Finance and marketing

YieldSheets is a catalog of commercial real estate financial models in Excel: multifamily, development, equity waterfalls, debt funds and more. Every file is fully unlocked, so you can see and edit each formula.

MarketPlans is for the solo in-house marketer at a 10–200-employee company. It keeps one annual plan up to date, calculates budget-vs-actual variance as you enter spending, and links every campaign on a 12-month calendar to the budget line that pays for it.

What every product includes

Every product has the same three layers, and they are at different stages:

  • A marketing site with a blog. The articles answer the questions buyers in that niche actually search for.
  • A digital store, live now. Each store sells templates and toolkits you can buy today. A few examples: MachineScheduler's store has a machine capacity planning workbook and an Excel-to-scheduling migration guide. LicenseRoadmap's has a CE hours tracking workbook and a bond and insurance expiry tracker. YieldSheets' has a BRRRR investment calculator and a commercial lease underwriting model. CEOSalary's has a CEO compensation negotiation kit and an equity grant valuation workbook.
  • A SaaS app, on a waitlist. None of the apps is open for sign-up yet. Each product's pricing page leads to its waitlist, and joining puts you in line for access when that app opens.

The content answers questions, the store gives practical tools to people who need help now, and the app is the long-term product. We would rather label it honestly as waitlisted than overstate where it is.

Finding the one that fits

If one of these sounds like your work, start at our products page, which always shows the current list, with each product's status ("Templates live · App waitlist" on every one today). New products join it over time. From there you can visit a product's own site, read its blog, browse its store, or join the waitlist for the app.

Each product does one thing for one kind of team, and we do not plan to change that.
